1. 7. 2010 last show before the autumn show!
The Tide will play their last concert before the release of their second album (due in October). On July 8th they'll travel to Ljubljana, Metelkova mesto, where they will perform in Gala Hala (summer garden). The band starts to play at 22.00 and hopes to stop the time... for a bit of time! :)
Also, this is my last PR effort for The Tide. The disagreements have crossed the line written in the sand... And it is not MY fault that I haven't been able to locate that line! If 3/4 of this planet's population can't even locate Slovenia on the map, how am I expected to do so? The Tide will announce their new PR staff in a short while, but as far as I'm concerned, I'm off to do something different! And you'll never find me, I promise you!

8. 3. 2010 New album postponed...
The Tide will release their second album this autumn, because of the unexpected projects which turned up for the band and will require their full attention this spring.
The Tide will perform at the award ceremonies for The week of Slovenian drama. They have written and arranged some new material, but the numerous rehearsals with choir and the orchestra have sadly delayed the process of finalizing the upcoming album.
Nevertheless, The Tide will do some gigs during this spring to prepare their fans for the next album. Stay tuned and online for the gig dates!

I'd like to do the same, but unfortunately from where I'm residing right now, the internet connection doesn't work well. I was told to meet the band last Saturday on their gig (they said something about "in the forest"), but the jungle of Madagascar sadly proved to be the wrong forest... So I'll just make it back into civilization during Xmas holidays and then carry on, carry on, carry on... with a good journalism.

19. 11. 2009 before new album...
As the band grows weary in studio, they decided to hit the stage for a couple of times. They didn't tell me this personally, but they're planning a present for all of you until the end of this year, so my advice to you is to check this website regularly!
As for me, I've been given some hints that the band is not quite happy with the PR work I do for them. I know that we haven't been able to meet each other yet, but hey, y'know, there are ALWAYS unpredictable occurents that you just CAN'T prevent! Like last time, when I really folowed road signs to "Selo" and ended up on the wrong part of Slovenia... you can't say that was my fault, can you? 16. 9. 2009 YES! It's September and it's snow!
We've been there! They've seen it!!!
The Tide proudly present their fourth video SNOW!, for which I've been entitled to do PR for. In collaboration with Miha Knific, they once again produced a masterpiece supporting new short movie »The cloud catcher«. The film will be premiered at Portorož Film festival this October, and the video will see the media spotlight this month on MTV.

10. 6. 2009 the tide shooting new video!
Hello! Been away for a while, trying to make my way back into civilization after following The Tide on their skiing vacations...
But now I'm back and more than ready to fully cover The Tide's preparations for their second album. I just learned that they are shooting a video for their first single called "Snow!" The track also appeared in a short movie Cloud catcher by Miha Knific, but now it's been recorded in The Tide manner and the director called the band in front of a camera. This Sunday, June the 14th at night!
Because the set will be hermetacally sealed, it is impossible to get any details from the shooting of the video, but yours truly will try to make it inside and cover the event just for you.

On a festival of creative short films done only with a mobile phone, called Modri Zob '09 a short film by Aljoša Korenčan called Train took 1st prize in its category as well as the main Grand prix prize.
Well done Aljoša!
The music to back this film was Monday sleeper (unplugged version, free on this vebsite under the Unplugged album).

22. 10. 2008 Title
October 16th, The Tide played in Gala hala Metelkova city, but the problems started way way before. Due to extensive food supplies, the band was unable to drag the guitar player Johnny Ratzenberger out of his house and the search went on for about half an hour, including mobilisation of local fire department. Finally I tracked him down, sipping his vodka martini in a pool, claiming he "needed something to leave a better aftertaste before the gig". The gig went exceptionally well, in no small amount due to this incident.

18. 9. 2008 saving the planet
The Tide joined all the people in the world yesterday and turned off all electricity and other electric devices during their practice (from 21.50 - 22.00 local time). It was a unique opportunity for me to capture a photo of the event (below), beautifully displaying the expressions on the band members' faces... Enjoy!

11. 9. 2008 in studio...
Hi, this is Chandler Jenkins and I'm the official reporter for all The Tide activities they'll be taking concerning their 2nd album. The reason they appointed me for this job is simply that they wished not to be disturbed during their work and sidetracked with other non-album making activities.
As for this first post of mine, I'm glad to report that the recording preparations are now all but complete. When talking to The Tide produccer/bass player Dejan Osterman, he assured me that "things go as planned" and he also noted that quote: "I've learned a lot about the recording process during Love&Trust recording and I certainly don't want to do some of the mistakes again".
The Tide are planning to record most of the material until the end of 2008 and then go into post-production. And I'll be around them like a fly on shit, watching them and capturing their every move, hopefully also in pictures, not only words.
The news will also be translated into Slovenian language and published on The Tide hompage / Slovenian section, for which I deeply thank my colleague Janez Marija.

3. 9. 2008 the tide catching clouds
During this summer we experienced a little filming, as we were contributing/cooperating with Miha Knific on his new movie "Cloud Catcher", which will hopefully be released until the end of next spring.
The Tide added a version of our new song "Snow!", which will be featured on our 2nd album (recording starts within a month), in addition to this two nicest members of the band also got small acting roles in the film.

The CD covers are available on our concerts or via postal order (write a mail). The release party will be on May 6th in Roxly club (ex Triglav) in Ljubljana, and CD covers will be also distibuted for free...

19. 12. 2007 premiere of desire
Man has desired more, more and more over the centuries. Also in music. Now we're living in times when music is often not enough to persuade or even draw attention to us. Because we desire more. In few decades maybe even video supporting music won't be enough. But until then we can hope to spark your desires with "Desire". This is of course by no means the synopsis of our new video, which will be premiered at MTV Adria on December 22, 6:00 p.m on Adria Top 20. If you will have trouble understanding the video, maybe a short film "Making of Desire" could help you. Check out MTV Adria on January 10th at 21:30.
15. 11. 2007 FEW SIDE PROJECTS
After touring with Neil Leyton we took a few weeks of rest. We are preparing for new projects lying ahead of us, one of them is cooperation with one of the major music stores in Slovenia. Everybody who likes to watch commercials: you can hear our song Cosmic in a MIP commercial these days and our new song Midnight shooter in Big Bang commercial.

24. 10. 2007 desire shot in awful conditions
Yesterday we finished shooting our 3th video "Desire" in studio. Last week the filmig took place in http://www.koper.si , Slovenia in terrible conditions (wind, rain...) Luckily most of the shooting was done under water surface.
The Tide would like to thank all the crew for their strugling on the set, especially:
- the director Miha "Scuba" Knific - photography director Aljoša "Mijau mijau" Korenčan - Studio Arkadena - Start Film production - main video actors Jure and Karin for freezing their asses in cold Adriatic sea
Unfortunately The Tide singer, who also drowned in the sea during the shoot, suffered minor ego and major body temperature injuries, so he will not be mentioned with his full name in this news, out of pure respect and sympathy for the poor fellow. Tomaž, we wish you a quick recovery!
Video is due to be released in December 2007 and after seeing the set and the shoot, it's gonna be a great thing. Don't miss it! This video is also to be a part of Miha Knific' heksagology movie, but enough said for now, more news in a short time!

The Tide will not be resting the next few days, however, as we're heading down to the sea to shoot our 4th video "Desire". We will do the catering, and Miha Knific will be doing the video... Yesterday we started off very well in Velenje - it was a very nice gig. Because Slovenia is huge and vast country, we were forced to carry our homes and all belongings with us on this tour. 7. 9. 2007 tour preparations
The Tide began preparations for the "Soul out" tour in Slovenija with Neil Leyton, which will take place in the first half of October.
The show on September 1st in Postojna went very well, great atmosphere, merciful weather, edible food and river of drinks... in short, we are looking to come to Postojna again!
We also plan to release our 3rd video till the end of September and we'll tell you more details about that very shortly...

21. 8. 2007 On stage after a long long time...
Last Saturday we played live in Ljubno again and after three months we warmed our rusty and dusty joins...
Show visualization posed a real problem this time. Gigantic video screen did not work, but even more disturbing was our guitarrist' onstage appearance. The guy has just too much responsibility to appear onstage with a face full of fresh bee stings, don't you think?!! The Tide resolved the matter and are currently looking up for a female make-up help on gigs from now on. Applicants can contact us via e-mail...
Nevertheless, the show went very well, so we are anxious to play Postojna on September 1st!!

14. 8. 2007 the tide is back on stage!
The Tide will end this summer holidays this Saturday with a big gig in Ljubno (days of sports and fun). The gig starts at 21.00 including big screen show. Come and check it out!!
There's a smaller problem however, as the lead singer ripped off half of his face today. Whether he'll recieve proper plastic surgery treatment until Saturday gig, it depends mainly on his better half (not better half of his face, obviously :))
The band is preparing the release of unplugged album, which we recorded this April with Jure Longyka. It should be out this year.
This October The Tide will also play in a small club tour in Slovenia supporting a well-known foreign act. All the details will be disclosed soon and more news follow shortly...

8. 4. 2007 Unplugged is coming...
Friday 13th of April at 22.25 The Tide will be testing radio lenghts on Val 202 (98.9Mhz) in live unplugged show with Jure Longyka.
We have been practising for the past few weeks and this week we will be rehearsing with all the guest musicians and singers for this gig.
For everyone interested, The Tide will have a final public dress rehearsal on Thursday, April 12th in MKC Kranj (ex Baron) in old town centre. Feel free to come and check out the sound!

The Tide will be performing on Newcomer festival in Graz this Sunday, 18th of March.
Many Slovenian bands have achieved nice results in this competition in the past few years, so it would be very nice if this would continue....

22. 11. 2006 VIDEO ON MTV ADRIA!!!
The premiere of our new video named "Your river wild" will take place on Saturday, November 25th at 6.00pm on MTV Adria Top 20 show.
The video was presented at Monday's press conference and it was directed by Miha Knific. he band is extremely pleased with his work!! The shooting of the video took place in New York, Los Angeles, Hawaii and in Arizona and the hired actors in the video had a difficult task to present egos from the band members -that is, egos, covered by the band's superego.

21. 11. 2006 Love&trust is out! (not metaphorically of course:))
THE TIDE have released the debut album LOVE&TRUST!!
The release took place at castle Kodeljevo yesterday and a satisfactory number of media was present.
The cover of the album is really special. It's in an LP format containing an art poster with lyrics and other stuff...

9. 11. 2006 RECORD RELEASE!
The Tide's debut album Love & Trust is due to lauch on November 20th!!!
This is a special event for all of us, so we decided to emphasize it with a press conference, which will take place at Grad Kodeljevo in Ljubljana.
The record itself is in the last phase of preparation, but we can already give out the first details - design group POP UP has made a terrific job putting the cover together!!! Well done!!!
To follow the press conference there will be media appearances and gigs throughout the rest of the year. We will of course inform you regularly about all the events regarding our band here, on our website.

The band has played its first rehearsal together with the dance-artistic leader of the next mutual project (The Tide&Mana), due to take place this summer in major Slovenian cities. The impressions from both sides (musical and dance) are very positive, but it will be a long hot rehearsal-filled spring ahead of us...

3. 4. 2006 Cooperating with swedish film industry!
There's a special collaboration going on involving band The Tide and swedish film industry. The Tide has agreed to produce music soundtracks for two swedish films named Let me sleep and Story. The director of both films is Miha Knific.
There's also a tour coming up, and not a classic one. The Tide has made arrangements with another art form and the shows will be a combination of music and dance performances. More details soon...
