Interview with director Miha Knific
For better understanding of the story developing in the music video
Ready To Go, we offer you a brief interview with the 'maker' - director Miho Knific:
What is the story of the video about? If we were to judge by the title, the song would probably talk about the path to home. Video doesn't do that, but shows the path to a place, where all you want to do is go home. A place, where your rev's go into red, you feel lost and you realize the waste of your potential.
The story is placed in a system where people have to do jobs of the everyday objects... all these jobs feel meaningless, people don't appreciate the things and people anymore, in fact we feel as we are being tossed around or play a role of an ashtray. Our world is changing into a feeling less world, in which we have to live. That is a world in which we have to stay quiet and must vanish in gray meritocracy.
Is this system a result of society crisis? It is the system in which we actually live - i.e. a world of the exploiters and the exploited. It is a world directly shown through a different perspective. The system in which we actually live today is full of absurd power struggles and domination. That de-humanized a person, stole our taught and actions and threw us in uniformed capitalistic order - and all that under the pretention of freedom,
Video is some sort of reflection to the current state of mind of the society. Even though it is intimae it tells a private story of one person and through that shows the parallel world. It is a 'homage' to the artist Erwin Wurm and screenwriter and producer Patricia Plaza.
What is the relation between picture and sound in this video?Picture shows the reason, why it is time to go home. The lyrics reveal different, more deep side - why there is no hope, where there is no love. People are transformed into machines which suffer.
How did the band members perform on the shooting since they are not professional actors? They had to play a role which doesn't exist in reality - that means they imitated something which doesn't exist, therefore they couldn't act wrong. The shooting itself was in a strictly documentary style, with hand camera, which additionally helped understand the world we were showing.
